Let’s start by saying “thank you mom for giving me this name that I didn’t fully understand till the age of 37”. It was a cause of frustration for a long time for me, because in my native country of Belgium the spelling of my name was very uncommon. You see a lot of “Debora” or “Deborah”s but not too many people with the name “Debra”.
This name apparently means “Honeybee” in Hebrew. So let’s take a closer look at the honeybee in spirituality. And after that let’s dive into the “Beach Mhillteach” priestesses, Gaelic for honeybee priestesses of the ancient Celts.
Come and journey with me, into the magical world of Irish mythology, where nature resonates harmoniously with the presence of the gods and goddesses. Nestled within these enchanted realms, we find a group of revered beings known as the "Beach Mhillteach" priestesses. Also known as the Bee Priestesses. I have always had a very close connection to Irish lore and Ireland.. I have vivid past life memories of Irish lifetimes, visited twice and cried on the plane on the way back home.. Each time felt like I was leaving a piece of my soul behind.
The Beach Mhillteach priestesses held a unique and sacred position as they safeguarded the very essence of nature's sweetness. Their bond with the earth was unparalleled, and they held the bees, who were revered as sacred, in a position of reverence within society.
But did you know that their legacy transcends beyond the Celtic lands? The roots of their sacred role can be traced back to Ancient Egypt, where they were known as the `House of the Bee,' or the Rig-Veda of India. Minoans, ... and several more cultures embraced the sacred role of the bee priestesses. Their origin story has been woven into countless fairy tales, they shared the wisdom and knowledge on the wonders of honey. Connected to Venus, fertility, abundance and love.
Historical research reveals that the priestesses of the British/Irish isles were esteemed Priestesses with oracular abilities. And it's my personal belief that they can be traced all the way back to Atlantis. They served in sacred temples dedicated to the goddess Brigid , honoring the essence of the divine feminine. In those tranquil times, the civilization thrived for years, thanks to their diligent practices.
The Beach Mhillteach priestess connection with bees runs deep. It was believed that Brigid was closely associated with bees. It was believed that she brought bees to Earth from her otherworldly apple orchard.
Let's take a closer look at the attributes of the honeybee:

I am definitely starting to appreciate my name more and more.. And as I get older I am seeing more and more how I embody these qualities and how they are an intrinsic part of my being. Took me 37 years...
More and more women that I cross paths with are on a similar journey. They see how they are being called over and over again to dive deep into inner journeying with Mother/Father God. Into Devotion to cultivating the Truth of their souls, their purpose and unfolding their divine missions.. And how this is asking them to overwrite old stories, old programming, old belief systems.. About money, about what it even is to be a woman, expectations.. ancestral shame.. recognizing what is not good for you and what is good for you.. Recognizing the song of your soul.
To call in more honey bees.. I am still offering a discount on my 1:1 mentorship for women.. until I decide otherwise..
